It's been a while since I've been on but I've searched through all the old posts and still want some input.

I know about the CAN-BUS setup through Logjam electronics, but the last I heard you couldn't use the stereo to change songs and I read a post that said the unit would cause your stereo lights to dim all the time. :notnice:

I also found the Peripheral PXDP2 which looks like it has all the functionality of the Logjam unit but also allows you to control the IPOD through the stereo and doesn't have the light dimming issue. :nice: I found some information on a software issue they are having with it though where it stops working. :notnice:

Does anyone know of any other options (beside an FM modulator)?

Any comments on the two options above if you have that setup would be appreciated.

i have this product and it did have the problem; peripheral did provide a fix and should be shipping updated one to suppliers next week and those of us with the problem will have it replaced; i did talk to peripheral to confirm; i got mine thru discount auto stereo - so if this is what you want you can place them a call and they will not ship until the new ones are received.

For less than $200 you can get an Alpine head unit that will connect to your ipod with a $29 cable. The Alpine has ALL of the controls for your ipod which you can hide in your console. It also sounds better than the Shaker 500. For my money, that's the way to go.

Good point but nobody is busting my window and ripping out the dash for the CAN-BUS.

Maybe if it was CAN-I-BUS then I would change it out.
