I installed a set of flowmaster axle backs on my 2010 GT and am getting droned out at 1600 to 2300 rpm. It is very annoying to say the least. I am now thinking of going to the Borla axleback or the SSS mufflers or Steda . Any suggestions would be help full.

I would try to find live examples and listen to them, the speakers on your computer are not a good example. Remember aftermarket manufacturers don't care about drone.

You could try to install a set of resonators. These work really well at taking care of almost ALL the drone.

Weird - I just installed a set of flowmasters on my 07GT and was really amazed at the LACK of drone. Yes, there is some, but I honestly had to listen for it - no change rattling around in the cupholders or anything like that. To me, it just seemed like a modest step up from the stock mufflers. The bark is definitely more menacing but really quite mild. I guess some people are more sensitive to it than others. Maybe it's a diff between 07 and 10/11? I know the newer stangs have that feature where they pipe exhaust tone into the cabin.. I also have the stainless steel version of the flows - don't know if that makes a diff though.

BTW - I heard excellent things about the Corsa, but WOW the price is steep....

I just installed my flowmaster 17410's onto my 2010 GT and I don't really find any drone. they have a nice deep tone, in fact I almost wish I got the 2 chamber 40 series.... Those probably drone a bit more as I understand them to be more agressive... anyways, the tone that is piped into the cabin is not exhaust tone, it is drawn directly from the air intake, right after the filter, there is a tube that goes through the firewall into the cabin. anyways, point being that has no effect on the exhaust sound however there could be some other difference in the 07 to 10, perhaps muffler could sit further up or back or something...
I'm surprised that so many people don't like the flowmasters, I think they are great so far. I also had a set on my 89 lx 5.0 that sounded great too, back in the day.

I have a set on my 05 and I hear no drone what so ever. Now it is alittle louder than stock until you give it some gas and then the flowmasters come alive. But I do get alot of people telling that the car sounds good
