axle bearings and race removal questions

these fuggers aint budgeing, i broke my slider hammer puller trying to get them out. the drum is the part which slides right off the axle after you remove the tire right?

Um,yea...

Remove the drum (yes, the part thats comes off when you take the tires off). Then open the differential cover, and you got to take the little screw out and pull the pin out. Then push the axles in and take the C-Clips out. Then take the axles out and you can then get to the housing ends.

Atleast i think thats what you asking  ?

the differential is out, axles are out, i was going to change my axle baerins but the slide hammers attachment just broke didnt even budge 'em. i asked my nieghbors about the problem he said maybe you would have to take off the brakes ( 4-blots hold them on). im not too sure about that

I just did mine and what I did since I didn't have a slide hammer was use a long bold about 4" and about 3-4 washers that were just slightly smaller than the bearing, a nut and pickle fork (you could use anything that will span the outside lips of the housing and let the bolt go through the center) The pickle fork is tapered so it tends to pull at an angle but it still worked. Next put a washer on the bolt and then run the nut on just a little way. Then fling that up the inside of the housing, it should pop the end out the other side of the bearing but the washer will be behind it. Next take the nut off, put two washers on the bolt then run the nut back on a little. Then take the pickle fork and place it under the two washers and across the outside of the flange. Once thats supported start tightening the nut down and keep going untill the bearing pops out.
