I have a 1995 stock GT to play with.
Anyone ever run a B303 cam and 1.7 roller rockers on a stock lower end with Y303 heads??? I know I'm asking a ton, but I'm wondering about interference issues. The Y heads have 1.94 in and 1.54 ex valves.
The rocker arms might be my downfall according to FRP recommendations.
The Cobra performance package that FRPP sells includes the 1.7 rockers and the Y303 heads (old catalog) but doesn't include a cam swap and still uses the stock Cobra cam.
What do you think, am I now looking like I have to peddle the 1.7's and get a set of 1.6's or will the 1.7's work?

either way i see roller rockers to be more of a band aid for what a cam should be doing. i have seen someone run a bcam and 1.7's before so yes it will work but i think you will be fine with out them. imo the stock rockers work great and are LESS prone to break than the best roller rockers.

Rockers

I already have the rockers from another build I was going to put together. I was just wondering if they work with the Y303 heads and a B cam on a stock shortblock without notching the pistons.

Combo

So he IS running Y303 heads w/1.7 rockers and a B303 cam???
I wonder why FRPP said it would not, could not, and won't work.......

b cam has low lift by itself... only .480" with a 1.7 rocker arm it jumps to around .510 -.512" which isnt much lift still. you wont have any problems.

Clearance

Aren't the stock pistons notched to a certain extent too?

Info

Well then I guess now I have to determine whether or not I'll be taking this project and keeping it injected or switching it over to carb.
Keeping it FI is going to cost me quite a bit more than converting to a carb considering I already have a carb and intake.
If I keep it FI I'll probably need a new upper and lower intake and larger throttle body, maybe bigger injectors too. My budget just can't support that right now.
