I have a 05 Mustang GT with 10000 miles when I get on it hard it back fires Ford has put a new fuel pump on last week it does the same thing. It has been the shop for a week this time and now they say they cannot find any thing wrong. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks

this is the frst i have heard of it. sounds like a timing issue. maybe the timing chain/belt (dont know which is on the 3V). do you have any mods?

Mine started pinging, and popping going through 3rd under heavy or full throttle. It did this out of no where. I have since returned to the stock tune and its now fine. I think we are getting screwed at the pumps more way than one. I"m gonna try race gas because it always ran good on that along with pump gas. If it runs good on race gas I'm affraid they have changed the formula at the pumps on us,at least here in cali. If it still runs like poop, somthing is wrong with my car.

Someone here had that same problem and Ford told him to use Chevron gasoline and the problem went away. They said it is a cleaner gas with Techron and that the octane levels don’t fluctuate like other brands.
