yo so yesterday i went to steeda motorsports i got 4:10's put in and lower control arms & upper control arm.

I have yet to really be able to get on my car or do any sprinted driving because it has been raining non-stop since i got the car.

Well the gears they did twice for me the first time we noticed some slight whining noise when slowing down so they said they would try another gear set (all ford racing by the way), tried 2nd gear set went through double checked all the work and tried again and alas still have a slight whine or noise when slowing down.

From talking with steeda and other folks, it sounds like on the newer mustangs gettinng gears in the 4:10+ range can make a noise from the one little gear spinning so fast when slowing down unlike the 373's or 355's plus the rear end is a bit different from the older fox bodies. anyway steeda does gears all the time and they said its a common to happen but has no reason for any failures to occur.

o well hopefully the road dries up so i can see how she goes when i push on her.

Anyone know how long my stock clutch could last w/ 4:10's and racing at the track?

Stock clutch ... depending on HOW HARD you launch it will determine the life of the clutch.. Just a forwarn I would start looking at a new clutch if your an avid track goer ! Since you have uppers and lowers now will you be running slicks or drag radials ?

Thanks guys for the replies ;)

Yes I will be going to the track a lot to bracket when it re-opens after surfacing in the Fall.

So lol by then ill make sure I have some money saved up for when the stock one takes a ****.

I race on Drag Radials.

I've raced this past year w/ the radials w/ intake+tune+exhaust best of 13.20 @ 105 w/ 1.90 60' foot. (on ****ty track surface)

Now my track is completely reconstructing and re-doing the track to open hopefully around Sept-Oct 08, im excited.

Yes, I'm hoping now with the control arms to calm down wheel hop and the 4.10's i can get into the 12's.. Maybe a 12.85-12.9 ? We'll see if i can hook it should get there.

If it doesnt someday Ill have to get underdrive pullies to really keep me in that 12 zone.

I'll keep you updated it will be a couple months until the fall :(

HOWEVER I WILL SAY!!!

On the way back to Work from Lunch finnally the rain cleared up and the streets dried up I was able to bang the gears and finnally test them out with some full pedal.

And WOW, this girl is hauling ass now. I felt a def seat of the pants on wide open throttle she really picks up slammed into the 2nd my street tires (when i go to work) we're spinning like a mofo lol but I noticed with the new control arms my back end stayed stiff and it was very controlable to drive. i was sittin at 100mph much much quicker than i was gettin at w/ the old gears. :nice:
