You can get the UV dye at auto parts stores and a cheap uv flashlight. Easily locate your leak.
Ok so got a light and uv coolant dye. How much of this stuff would I pour in to the radiator? You can get the UV dye at auto parts stores and a cheap uv flashlight. Easily locate your leak.
(Usually) the instructions say.Ok so got a light and uv coolant dye. How much of this stuff would I pour in to the radiator?
There are 4 qt per gallon, and LMR says there is about 14 qt (3.5 gal) of coolant in a full 5.0. Use 1.75 Oz. You can confirm coolant and other capacities with your owners manual. If no manual, this is close enough. Nothing will die if the dye is too strong.
So poured it in gave it crank and let it run for a second. Think I’ve found the culprit. Only spot I could see, everything else was clean and no dye. Not sure why unless the plug just cracked, hopefully can reach it and re plug it.Did you get it done?
I’m not visualizing this area, but it rocks that you found it! (Is that the adapter for the EGR coolant line at the passenger back of the intake?)So poured it in gave it crank and let it run for a second. Think I’ve found the culprit. Now it looks familiar. My PCV valve was out like that for an extended, but undetermined time.Your PCV is popped out as well
YupRt rear part of the lower intake right?
yeah I think I pulled trying to get the salt & peppers out of the way to shine the light back there!! Probably why the car started to run weird when I was letting the UV dye spread through the coolant!!Your PCV is popped out as well
Yea, well just wrapped the button some of the Teflon tape and a little pipe dope. Ran the car yesterday for a bit, all was clean no leaks noted!!Did you put thread sealer on it?
