I’m getting ready to put a true dual exhaust with a muffler delete axle back on my 2006 V6. I know that ditching the mufflers and going up to 2.5” piping will lose back pressure because air will be drawn out of the engine. If I were to put a cold air intake and maybe a tune, would I get some of that backpressure back?

Back pressure is not a good thing. That's a common misperception. That said, you're unlikely to pick up much, if any, hp. It will just be significantly louder.

With an aftermarket tuned exhaust, you will likely trade a little bit of torque for a little bit of HP.

A tuned long tube exhaust would likely show you an increase in HP and torque across the entire power range. More $$

Whether the benefit justifies the cost is up to you. Exhaust improvement on the V6 will not be earth shattering.
