What is the backspacing of a rim? and how do i measure it? another question i have is how do i measure the boltpattern? I plan on getting some Torque Thrust II rims and need to know if they will fit my 66' mustang coupe.

Backspacing is measured by laying the rim flat on the ground and taking a tape measurer to the backside of the rim (the part that faces the brake caliper/spindle) and taking the measurement from the mounting surface of the rim to the outer lip of the rim.

All V8 Fords have a 5x4.5" bolt pattern.

Careful with that statement. I think it only holds true for all ford V8 passanger cars. Trucks are a different story (especially the newer ones)

...and 89-up Thunderbirds have a 4 1/4" bolt pattern.
