Trying to figure out why my electric Saleen boost gauge needle does not go down after a while of driving. Pulled the sender wire and needle dropped instantly, but works fine when engine is cold. Sender is relatively new from Saleen, but could be bad. Any thoughts what to check before I start buying anything.

Boost gauge? So do you achieve maximum boost, show that on the gauge, and then it doesn't drop?

If that's the case, based on what you said above, I would also have to say the sender.

I do get max boost on the gauge. Drops to 5lbs and stays, but will drop to zero over night.

It won't fall to zero while you are driving, or it wont fall to zero after you shut the car off?

If the latter, that can be normal for air core gauges.

If the former, I agree about the sender. I'd contact Saleen. If they are like big gauge companies, they might have you do a quick check with your meter before possibly warrantying out the problematic part.

Good luck.
