when you refer to the headlight switch, i assume you mean your taillights work. brake lights are separate. if all of the lights went south, there are a couple possibilities.
bulbs, the brake light switch, open power wire or ground. cant remember if brake lights have a fuse.

the brake switch (where i might start) is on the brake pedal arm. i would check to ensure you have power to it, and that when the switch is closed, there is power leaving it.

good luck.

i am talking about the switch you turn on when the sun goes down. my brakes don't get brighter when i touch the pedal. so i will check that switch on pedal arm, thanks

ok, im sorry if im lost here. assuming LX lights are similar schematically and functionally to GT lights (they are)....

so your brake lights and tail lights dont work?

if this all happened at once, i might check the connectors and grounds by the lights in the trunk/hatch.

you can also pop the headlight switch out real easy and check the terminals for continuity.

good luck.

one time in my truck i popped off the brake light connector right behind the brake pedal. Took a second to fix but a half hour to find.
