holy ****ing hell is all i have to say....

spend all this money on this damn turbo kit and the header sits on the driver side motor mount, a good 1/4inch+ of interference. When i get up tomorrow Nate at HP better be ready this is ridiculous, might have to fly down there to make sure something gets done about this... anyone from New Mexico that would like to join me and visit Nate or do the visiting for me. Im expecting to get a new header(that doesnt hit the motor mount and o i forgot the swaybar!!!) plus a little compensation for waiting so long for a bunk kit.

For now i have ordered solid motor mounts which i believe will get rid of the interference problem but for gods sake i hope all the piping lines up.

To mock everything up I have removed the stud from my poly mount and re drilled the hole and ground the **** out of the top tab and then spot welded it. now i have about 1/16" clearance. which doesn't make me comfortable.

This kit is a good product and i cant wait but they need to get their buts in line and stop all the f'n errors...

venting and possibly i can sleep now, doubt it.

My driver side header hits too on my PTK kit, but I am running an aftermarket K member so I can't fault the turbo manufacturer too much. That is one of the reasons I don't have it on the car yet.

even the stock mounts dont work... so i dont see it being my fault, unless the DArt block is different bu they sold me the block to technically so even then if it was the block its their problem.
i wish i could take BFH to it.... dont want to crack the coating i waited forever on

Can you modify the motor mounts to make it fit?

i did and it fits now with about 1/16inch of clearance. should have fit in the first place. and my modified mount is probably built stronger then from when i got it from ES but still not comfortable w/ it.

I know of 2 friends that have the HP turbo kit for fox body stangs, one has sold the car and the other posts on here. I dont belive they have an issues with the fox body kits concerning the fitment around the motor mounts. Sounds like an SN95 problem.

I know there are some differences with Sn kits not sure if that header is one though. They are supposedly making a new one using pictures i sent them and using the in house car instead of a jig(i guess) to find out where the mistakes were. who knows if it will get done.

Nate did tell me to do what i want with the header until i get the new one, so i beat the **** out of it using my BFH and a ball peen, took it to the header shop and they said "**** release some stress and do what needs to be done to get it to work and dont worry about looks, no one is going to look under your car." now it finally fits with some wiggle room and nate will be getting back a beaten header....

Sounds like a serious PITA. I think thats the main reason Ive decided to stay N/A flr awhile. Even when I do go the boosted route I think I'll just stick with a Vortech.

yeah it kind of is a pain, but i think it will eventually work out and the turbo adds its own kind of appeal.lol.
not my daily driver but i sure do want to drive it( by mid may hopefully.)

with hammering the header and installing sold mounts i should be good to go as long as the piping holds

dude you got nothing on me

i bought a 4R70W that never worked right, paid $2500 to get it rebuilt, put $550 down for a manual valve body and $650 for a TC

8 months later, i trashed all that and dumped $700 into an aod and $1000 to install it

you add it up, i don't want to know

that is what you might call a bad year
