Bad fuel filter??

So when i start my car it starts fine no problems. When i try to rev it up it tries to stall then revs really hi and makes a popping noise then go back sto idleing fine. Anyone got any suggestions as to what it is im thinking clogged fuel filter possibly.

Sounds to me like your timing is off. Anytime you have popping noises, it usually has to do with timing. I seriously doubt you could have plugged the fuel filter that bad and not have any starting issues.

hmm i jsut dont know it starts fine i mean how could timing go off though i havent run the car in like a month and the last time i did the battery just went dead. put a new battery in and it starts right up give it gas and it tries to stall i dont know whats wrong

Pull the codes and see what is happening. Even if there isn't a CEL there could still be codes to give a clue as to what is wrong.

Define "really high"

what mods have you done to the car, please list..

no mods at all some gay one pice off road x pipe that was on there when i bought it. It idles normal when i step on the gas it drops to about 100 or so then jumps to about 2500-3000 then goes back to normal.

If it hasn't ran in a month, possibly your fuel injector is sticking? But the best way to find this out would be do dump the codes and then enter the cylinder balance test afterwords.

Don't think a fuel filter that big would clog. It might get dirty, but not clog.
