I just bought a 1995 GT and the clock stops advancing the time but still displays the time when the headlights were turned on. This display also flashes off and on but returns to normal and starts advancing the time when the headlight switch is turned off. Does this make any sense? Can the clock be working through the headlight switch?

The clock does get some voltage from the headlight switch - to know when to dim. I had to replace my clock about a year ago - it just died outright. They're not the most reliable unfortunately after 20+ years.
