I have been into the classic's I have a 68 stang and been on this website for a long time, but just got a 98 stang today, and seems to have a big hesitation in neutral/park gears off idle, and maybe a hard start as well, think it should fire quicker. I know the car has been parked for a few months, so will fill with fresh gas maybe that will help, but thinking that I have an electrical issue. Any suggestions would help. Car has 101,000 miles automatice transmission.

Probably some basic maintenance.
Oil, Filters, Plugs, PCV valve, Injector cleaner, check all plugwires, Main coilpack may be going out, clean MAF, simple things like that Should help the starts and idle, I am no expert on auto trans though. somebody can chime in if the two could be a related issue.

Good luck with new stang.im on my 1st stang.its an 03 cobra with now 222k i do all my own work on it .thats like 120 miles aday my needs to stay perfect to do that. Fwiw i would put in new o2 sensors also

222k miles? You may have the highest milage terminator in the world, id like to see if there is one with more miles on it.
to OP, a complete tune up should fix your problem...and I mean complete.
Yea it will be getting compelete tune-up, plugs wires filters. I am a heavy equiptment service tech, so always do all my own work as well. I currently plan on keeping this car stock, no aftermarket cams and such. Bought it for a easy to drive more comfortable car. Already have the 68 Stang with 400+ hp that is modded so much that it is by no means a daily driver.
