Bad IAC?

I know a lot of peopel talk about this i have searched threw and only found a few things here on the forums. Seems like my car has a weird idel. It will idel at about 1 then drop to around 800 then to like 750 then back up to 850 it is weird. So just wondering if that is normal i know the 1 k to 800 drop is normal but for the idel to move 100 rpms is kinda weird for me. TIA

Yeah, sounds like a bad IAC or possible vacuum leak. try take off and cleaning the IAC with carb cleaner before you spend the money to replace it.

most likely IAC. mine just went, and it was doing what your discribing. Befor it went. So most likely, end of IAC is near.
Go to junk yard, and find junked crown vic with 4.6, and yank one out. thats what I did, and she is running like a champ

clean the iac if that fixes the problem temporarily you can pick a new one up at napa for $50. When my iac went bad it wouldnt idle when cold unless I gave it gas.
