i had a hurst pistol grip knob and absolutely hated it. mach 1 or 03 cobra knob are the most comfortable knobs you can get.

Have a upholstery shop stitch a softball glove to the shifter boot and stick your hand in it

i would be willing to bet that the valve came in contact with the pistion if your rocker came off like that, did you roll the pushrods on a flat surface to see if they were bent?

Based on the stock tach or an aftermarket one? Is your engine still EFI?

if you dont have a chip there is no way that the car should have revved to 7000

6al box has saved me too but if youre basing 7k off the stock tach reading then odds are you were really hitting 6250 for a long time and stuff started coming loose.

What is your tach? Autometer?

I've heard ghost stories of a handful of Foxes leaving the factory without a true rev limiter programmed in. Not sure how accurate that is, just something I've heard.

its an autogauge... it was there when i got it. but if i remeber right autogauge is made by autometer

as for the no limiter... its got one just really high up there. takes a REALLY bad miss shift to actually hit it, like i did here
:edit:
might not truely have one in the computer, just cant spin any higher at that point

My cars not chipped either and I've let it slip past 6k a time or two and it just rolled right along. Maybe our cars are just extra special

It's my understanding that 5 speed cars have the limiter set at 6500, while the AOD cars only go to ~6200 from the factory. So if you miss a shift, it can wind out a little bit, but it shouldn't be going to 7K.

I haven't found a rev limiter with my AOD computer. I've seen 6,700 coming off a burnout with my autogauge tach.
