ive been thru 2 turn signal switches from npd. they are sending me a more expensive version and only charging me the difference in price. they also sent me the second one free, but that doesn't help much if it is a bad part. Npd has been great, but has anyone else had a problem with this part? i'm hoping the more expensive version will solve this once and for all!

It might help if you were to describe the "problem" with more detail. I have a turn signal switch from NPD and have absolutely no problems with it.

Ugh! Don't scare me right now. I just bought a turn signal switch from NPD but haven't installed it. Like junkie said, tell EXACTLY what's wrong with it.

I just installed mine today. Everything works on it. The only TINY issue I really have is the bar to turn the signals on. It jiggles lightly where the rivet holds it in. So that's the only small issue I have.

Why did you buy the turn signal switch in the first place? Was the original on the car causing you problems? If so, what?

Hate to point out the obvious, but have you checked the Flasher? They DO go bad... Do your Hazard lights work? Which year Mustang?

Does sound like the flasher. I replaced mine because it was smoking whenever my turn signal was on. Indication showed there it was short circuiting. The switch does control the brake lights and signals but if it's your signals not working, I'd definitely lean towards replacing your flasher.

Having exactly the same issue with my 67. A month or so ago, I had no turn signals. All bulbs OK, replaced the flasher, brakes lights worked. I replaced the switch in the column ( $120) and it solved my problem. Worked great for a couple of weeks and now the same thing.

Emergency flashers work, brake and tail lights work. No blinkers on either side.

67's have 2 flashers - one for the turn signals, and one for the emergency flashers. You can try swapping them to see if the problem continues.

OE turn switch tends to break that it won't hold the lever, but it shouldn't cause the turn lights stop working. If that happens most likely your emergency switch has fallen apart. Because if it is in off position it supplies current to your turn lights. It has very flimsy contacts inside.

The 120 dollar replacement switch may work (if the OE's plastic arms are broken). avoid any those cheap $10 chinese reproductions, your turn light lever won't work with them.

In their defense, I'll point out NPD doesn't make the switches.

I was able to fix mine. It turned out to the be the flasher. The odd thing is that I had replaced both of the flashers with new ones a month or so ago, but one of the replacements went bad.

Is this an original Cluster that would work in my 1987 Convertible 2.3L? Turn signals work, but not correctly.
