Bad Vibration in my 67 stang flywheel

hi guys i have a 67 mustang that i have a 88 carbed 302 HO motor in. and a c4 auto out of my 67 that has just been rebuilt. with like 10 miles on it. well i had 289 fly wheel that i tried to use. well it had a bad vibration when it was driven. so i parked my stang and i decide to sorce a flywheel since the 289 didnt seem to work. so i called a few places and a guy told me i should buy a fly wheel from a 75-78 mustang auto. so i did and well i know it wont work after looking at it because it is way to small and only has 141 teeth on it. and come ot find out later after i paid the 70 bucks for the flywheel that i cant use. there is no return policy on it. and that it has the same balance as my 289 fly wheel of 28oz. and since my motor is an 88 5.0 HO i need a 50oz flywheel. or atleast i think i do. any one have any advice on how to help me? or what fly wheel i need to fit my motor and trany belhousing? or should i just have my 289 fly wheel rebalanced at a machine shop?

thanks guys

1 more thing guys.. i was ding some research.. and i donno if what i found is right or not.. but i found a site that says pre 81 all 302's / 351w had a 28 oz flexplate/flywheel and after 81 they had the 50oz ? is htis right>?
That's not entirely correct, all 351W's from 69 to the end of production in 1997 used the 28 oz/in balance factor. The 302 info is about right, only the switch to 50 oz/in occured sometime between 1980 and 1982, depending on what book you're reading. Even Ford's own info on this is sketchy. If in doubt on a 80-82 motor, check the crankshaft, the counterweights are much smaller on the 50 oz/in motors

Hey guys sorry to keep bothering you all with this but. is there a certian yr flywheel/flexplate i can buy from a part store to fit my 88 HO motor and 67 c4. reason im asking is because bnickle said hesnot sure on what yr but he gave me some h elp and i was just curios on if any one knows the specific yr i would need buy a flywheel/flex plate for.

you need one from a 79(i think)-83 302 with a c4, most auto parts stores can order you a brand new flexplate for around 45-50 bucks.

thanks bnickel for the advice and info. hopefully some one will know the exact yr i would need

The 50oz/in flexplate for a C-4 isn't an off the shelf item in any parts house. Ford never installed C-4's behind 82-up 5.0's. The C-5's were used in some cases, but they had 164 tooth flexplates and bellhousings. Yes, damien, you need the 50239.
