my car is still getting vibrations at higher speeds and progessivley gets worse. its a 65 with a new t-5 tranny and i just put in a new differential. its wierd, it will stop vibrating if i take my foot off the gas while its in gear, but if i take it out of gear, it vibrates even worse. the only thing i can think of is the driveshaft, but i had it balanced when i put the new tranny in.
(yes, the u-joints look fine)

"Budget" way to check the driveshaft. Take two or three "hose clamps" and put them on the driveshaft. Take the car out and drive it, then come back and rotate the clamps, say 90 degrees, then drive the car again, then the same thing again to see if the vibration goes away. Keep doing this.

The hose clamp screw down section will be enough weight to effect (affect) the balance of the shaft.

If the vibration goes away take the shaft back to the monkey that balanced it and tell him to try again.

this seems to have worked. can a transmission shop balance a driveshsaft? how much would it set me back to get an aluminum driveshaft (with the t-5 in there)

thats a very good idea with the hose clamps by the way. thanks!
