Baddest mustang ever?? Holy #%&!

first to the school bus reference, i didnt even check the link, but i've seen it before. its not even in the same class. that school bus isn't doing 230mph with its wheels up.
it's purpose built to do wheelies, with all the weight in the back, and the floor cut out so the driver can see perfectly.

That is why I included a :) at the end.

The car you let us see is no doubt, awesome, no matter which way you slice it.

The money, time, effort, and attention to detail that went into that car is nothing short of SPECTACULAR! It doesn't matter who's daddy's brother, sister's x-boyfrinds, house sitting, downs syndrome kid's, nurse maid's sister, has running down the track doing 8s.

It take's nothing away from the work of art and power that this thing is by ANY means.

Hell... the paint job alone is worth more than 99% of the cars on this site.

I would however, still like to have a place to put my groceries. :D

So answer me this, given both sides of this discussion. Which is harder, and more costly to do, build a 8-9 second drag car, OR a concourse level restored classic? HP costs money and so does a nod from an MCA judge.

Yes. Stalker. I KNEW you had to of posted in this thread so I rushed to read it to pick on you. I guess I'm stalking everyone I quote on this site! No sir, you just constantly want to force your ideas and opinions down peoples throat... no one likes you. You're a dick. I just say things that are apparent, that others don't post. I don't have a problem with you. I just think you are constantly out for attention that you never got when you were a kid. BAD ASS! You personally know Dwayne Gutridge. I met him once at a FFW. Nice guy. But I don't swing from his nuts. You constantly make it known that you know this guy (more like take your car to his shop to get work done on it, so you know him for those experiances). But I can't tell you the last time you posted, telling people you know this guy... and anyone cared... So why do you constantly bring him up??? That's all. I just think the way you handle yourself on this board (always thinking your opinion is the best, and your **** don't stink) is retarded. And yes, go ahead and say how stupid I am. Cause I can't tell you how long it's been since I've frequented the 5.0 forums. Mainly because of people just like you... And it sucks because you're the minority on this forum. Most guys (and gals) are really nice. Just those like you ruin it for the rest of us. And I believe the way you derailed this thread with your useless insults of the majority of the opinions people have about this car was pointless. That's all. :)

Yep.

I agree. The car is amazing, no matter what anyone's opinion is on race cars or street cars. Yeah, I'd rather have a street car at this point in my life than a drag/show car, but apparently that's what that guy wants. I'm not gonna take anything away from this work of art because it's not the perfect car for me. I'd much rather see an amazingly clean and well done, stupid fast drag car like this than another boring non-numbers matching stock resto.

Yep

I would like to say that is an outstanding car, and as Dagar said the attention to detail appears to be top notch. I myself have friends who have a 6 second mustang. ( CD Race Cars ) Unfortunatly they run a 735 ci RFE chevy engine with about 1000 horse of nitrous on it. I have been to a few of their track rentals with other cars that are in the same or similar classes and speed. Since it was a closed track rental ( cecil county drag way ) I had an opportunity to check other cars out also. I have to say that Ive never seen a race car that could easily be mistaken for a show queen, and I think that silver stang is the epitamy of both.

A true concourse correct car is a thousand times harder. Anyone can buy speed but you have to do research and have a ridiculous attention to detail to be able to pull off a win in the concourse circuit. Something as small as a paint smudge that's supposed to be on something could make all the difference. I personally would be more impressed with a build up where someone takes a rusted out junkyard heap and builds it into a concourse car than building it into a racecar. With a racecar build you can do things any way you want to, but true restoration is strict and finding all the right parts isn't always easy.

all you guys that bitch about not restoring it are stupid

there I said it. The owner was expressing his individuality and made what he wanted. grow a sack and bitch about something else. Don't even get started on how many of us wrecked classics or chopped them for parts. The mother***** is probably all fiberglass anyway, so quit your bitching and get a hug from your mom

Its different to build a car the way YOU want it, for YOU, than to build it to some half-assed assembly line technique at San Jose or Dearborn. Chalk marks mean nothing when you drive it. Its all about what you want. I'm done

Y'know, that's the wonder about the Internet ... if not humanity, in general. A person can make ANY kind of statement about ANYTHING, and there will ALWAYS be at least one person that will want to spout something off in opposition to it. Some dude could simply be declaring that the sky is blue, and then some other douche will stand up and protest about how it's not REALLY blue and that it's some trick of light refracting through water in the air, or some nonsense.

Personally, I think it's a pretty cool car... :nice:

...and even though I wouldn't want to own it, honestly - anything that gets gallons to the mile, rather than miles to the gallon, is of no practical use to me - I'm not going to rag on the OP or throw out my negative feedback just for the sake of being a naysayer. Y'know ... kind of that whole, "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything," sort of rule we all (should have) learned as children.

Y'all bicker about some of the most silly things on here, sometimes... :D

No matter what you say online, someone will go against you JUST to disagree and stir the pot. Doesn't matter what, it could be something 99.99995% of the world agrees with, yet that one guy will come on and argue, and will argue to the death.

I like the car, it's clean, fast, and well done. To say it's not impressive, well thats an opinion. If your used to building for a racing class, then something like this might not impress you. I understand that, but there is something to be said for stating your opinion in a civil way!

I like that car, wouldn't build it myself, but do like it! Impresses me a little, but slower cars have impressed me a lot more!

I forgot how much I love this site. Nothing like a little snicker in the morning while I eat breakfast at work (Mountain Dew and chips).

I don't know how you can't be impressed by that machine. If it weren't for the lack of a passenger seat I'd suggest to the "un-impressed" to simply strap in and go for a ride. You simply don't know what you're talking about until you've gone that fast. There just isn't anything like it. The fact he chose to use a 67' Fastback isn't even the issue. Like most of us who probably only have one or two mustangs... this guy might have a dozen. So he can have plenty of different set ups. Lucky guy. I'm jealous... but I don't get angry and turn hater like some do. Maybe I'm finally growing up in my late 30's? ha ha....

One more point... would the same crowd of people who don't like the drag set ups be turned off by the guy who turns his classic into an autocross/road racing demon? There's another thing you all should give a try if you already have not. You simply cannot have a clue on the ability of a road race car strapped with Goodyear race Eagle slicks until you've went for a ride with a quality driver.

It's un-freaking-believable. You can't have more fun without getting thrown in jail.

Have a nice day people... it could be the last!!
