Baking Alternator?

OK, I'm not crazy. I just painted my alternator with black VHT engine paint. It says on the can to cure the paint and make it solvent resistant by baking it at 200 deg. for an hour. So I was wondering if I can bake my alternator of will I fry something in it if I do? Thanks.

never heard of that. i don't know about putting it in the oven, but i would put some heat lamps on it or a space heater or something like that.

At 200 degrees you should be ok. It gets a whole lot hotter under the hood and especially when the alt. is under a heavy load. BAKE AWAY!
