so im new in the fox body world and starting a build.I have a 88 hatch that i just bought and after 3 weeks of owning it the head gasket popped, so i picked up a motor out of a late 80s crown vic stripped it down and sent it to the machine shop.I plan on using the stock crank but i dont know if it is 28oz or 50oz imbalanced if someone knows your input would be great also anyone ran patriot 185s thanks

it is a roller block i just need to use the crank and block for the start of the build, when you say stay away from the patriots is do the the hardware they build them with or just the whole casting

A new ford racing balancer is only $85, buy new.
Heads, TW's, gt40x, edelbrock rpm, or afr 165's would be good choices.

i dont plan on reusing the balancer i just wanted to make sure it was the same crank weight as what is in the car now but on the heads im debating on assembled or bare casting and build them around the cam i choose what would be the best out of the box im guessing the afr's
