Well,a couple months back my front tires started making a real loud squick noise,it sounded like it was coming from the springs, every time I go over a bump,or turn the tires in any direction it squicks.I took it to a local shop,to get it checked out. They told me that it was the struts that needed to get replaced(Could be:bs: they could just wanted too rip me off),but the guy told me it wasn't something that could be possibly dangerous. So I thought I'd wait a couple months til I replaced them.

Doing a bit of research I came across that a lot of people had the same problem, and it could either be the struts, ball joints or tie rod ends. I was thinking of just replacing all 3,but if it's just the ball joints,or tie rod ends, I'd rather do those first and replacing the struts after( I'd rather use that money to get a Magnaflow cat-back) Anyways I'm going to go and see if I can get a second opinion on it,hopefully it's just the ball joints,or tie rod ends since those are a lot cheaper to replace. But if it is the struts, would you guys recommend that I replace the ball joints, and tie rod ends too?

Anyways any advice would be appriciated..

Btw I'm planning on going with the Bullit struts/shocks packege:

http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=287,

They're $300 for both struts and shocks.I saw a couple of other packeges with struts, shocks, springs, and sway bar for about $400,but that's a little bit out of my reach $$ wise, any find that packege a lil bit more packet friendly?

i don't know if the struts would squeak that much, maybe if they lost all their grease they could.

I replaced the springs, shocks/struts, a-arm, and tie rods at the same time, so i'm no help. BUT, that fixed my squeaks and shakes, so I'm grateful

That kit you were talking about, i don't see any reason to buy extra parts you don't really want... like do you really want those springs (some say they aren't low enough) and do you need a new sway bar? is yours broken?... just things to consider...

check out the classifieds, ebay, and people's sigs for cool deals. I know of one guy who was talking about selling his really good shocks/struts for like $200.. but i forgot who it was

anyways... hope I gave some insight

oh, and btw... tie rods are like $10, so whatever you do, replace those

Thanks for the info DonJohn,I think I might as well change all 3 parts,Since I am in the need of some new struts/shocks anyways, the car handles a lot different then when I first got it. And yea I dont want to spend extra $$$ for the sway bar,or springs, just that I'd see if anyone's seen a good cheap deal for them thats all.

:OT:

Your website rocks....blows away any website with exhaust clips. That's what made me decide between Magnaflows Catback over Flowmasters.BTW,I was considering also getting an o/r H-pipe,or X-pipe,but It is my everyday driver so I don't want something overly loud, and abnoxious, should I just stick with the stock?:nice: ?:notnice:

if you are gonna replace the ball joints save yourself the labor prices and just order a set of the new style a arms.... that have them pressed in already...

Agreed, I got the 03 Cobra A arms and they are a lot easier to install then pressing in a new ball joint. Got them from oemfordparts.com for around $160.
