Car was lowered with pro kit about 5k miles ago. Got the tires rotated today and noticed
the front tires are wearing on the inside. Went to get alignment done but they are saying the
ball joints need replacing. Whats the best way to solve this issue??? Should I go with the Moog
replacments or the Steeda X5 replacments for lowered cars. These guys are wanting $500.
to install the Moogs and do alignment . Ive got 58k miles on the car.

If it needs balljoints, it needs em... i have a few lowered s197's, one with over 100k on it, lowered 2 inches with eibach springs, camber plates and camber adjusting bolts. camber is set at -0.3, toe at .02. tires wear flat across, still doesn't show any balljoint wear. I've seen shelby gt's with the ''stock'' 1.5'' lowering springs, with -2.5 degrees of camber, wears the tires out pretty quick. I suspect an alignment issue, but I can't inspect the car from here. I hope this helps

Balljoints do wear out fast on some S197's. Had to do mine at 35k with it only 1.5" lowered. A set of FRPP (GT500) lower arms with better balljoints runs about $260

Thannks, I am going to jack the car up and examine thhis weekend and if the ball joints have play
I will order the GT 500 arms since you have to remove the arms even if you only press
in new ball joints. For the alignment camber issue I have the Eibach camber bolts on order.

Very east to check, lift the front end from the control arm and see if there is any endplay.

Had my local shop install 2Ford Racing GT 500 control arms/ball joints, eibach camber bolts, and alignment.
All fell into correct specs. and my front end feels a lot better.

I picked up the lower control arms (GT500) for aropund $229.00. Easy install. I also replace the rear lowers and the 3rd link as well at the same time.
