My ball joints squeek like a stuck pig. What do you guys replace them with? Should I go factory or get those steeda versions. although something leads me to believe they arent for a fox? jus wanted some input.

If you have 94-95 spindles I would go with those FMS/Steeda X2 balljoints. If not just pick up some Moog replacements or something like that

Or you can buy Ford Racing Lower A Arms M-3075-A, they have upgraded Ball Joints and Bushings.

I like the one's I got at NAPA (yeah, imagine that). They're actually Dana ball joints and come with grease fittings.

EDIT: BTW, I agree with the above statement as well. I wish I could have went with new control arms when I had it apart. I was in a HURRY to fix the ball joint that I bursted with a pickle fork ..... so I had to get new ball joints instead. Getting the whole assembly is TOTALLY worth it.

How hard is it to replace the ball joints? I have pickle forks for ball joints and tie rods. Is anything else needed to replace them?

Ball joint removal/re-install kit.

You can rent one at the local parts stores. I rented one at O'Reilly's. Actually, I think I had to PAY for it up front ..... and got every penny back when returned. Be prepared if you got this route .... they're kinda expensive.

EDIT: you also need a BFH to go along with the fork. If you get the tool, you may not even need to use a fork. It's a PITA to do ball joints. If possible, get the control arms that already have them installed in them.

i know harbor freight has them for like 40 bucks... if you wanted to buy your own...

really easy to do just press em out then press them back in

I used Moog and they have grease fittings unlike the sealed up factory junk.

How much are the ball joints ? I've *heard* the control arms with them already installed are not that much more money...

For the hassle of buying new balljoints and renting a tool to press out the old ones and press in the new ones it is just much easier to get the Ford Racing A Arms and swap them into place.
