I'm in the process of doing a 5-lug cobra brake conversion on my 87 notch.
i want to know if sn95 balljoints will fit on my stock a-arms? and will this also eliminate the need for the .333' spacer?
thanks a lot in advance

I am not sure if the SN ball joints eliminate the need for the space (I haven't done the swap) I know that the Steeda x2 balljoints will.

Put the joints in and see what it looks like. They will fit. That is the beauty of the Fox Mustang.... forward compatibility with many of the other Mustangs.

If your car is not lowered, I don't think those are right for you. I was assuming that your car was dropped.

Go to steeda's website www.steeda.com and look in the suspension parts. They have a side by side comparison between the stock 94 ball joint and the X2 ball joint.

Get rid of the stock piles of crap. Do get, 1996 Cobra Ball Joints. I think they might be the same as the GT’s, but I paid 60 a piece from Ford. What a huge difference they made! Turn in response, plus the overall feel was 100 times better. No, you do not need spacers then. Skip the Steeda’s. Get OEM’s.

If you get a 94-current balljoint you do not need a spacer, they are different lengths which take the spacer into consideration. When I did the cobra conversion I used 94 cobra balljoints with no issues. Just my .02

Thanks for all the replies guys!
so the:
-94 oem's fit
-96 oem's fit
-steeda x2 fit
and all of these eliminate the need for the spacer rite?
I guess what im going to have to do is go to Ford dealer and see which ones they have in stock.
but i am leaning towards the steeda ones because they look so much stronger than the oem's and im going to be doing some hardcore autocrossing. i might need them.

Yes, all will eliminate the need for the spacer...As far as going to Ford for the ball joints, save your time and money and go to the nearest parts store and order a set of any year sn95 balljoints. I got mine from napa and they came witha grease fitting that screwed into the botom of the ball joint ( bonus!). Borrowed the proper tool to install them from Auto Zone ( $100 deposit) and everything went smooth...

DONT waste your Money on the X2's, they are nothing more than a reboxed Ford Balljoint from a different car. You can look on Summits page and Ford Racing has the SAME Balljoints for much less than Steeda sells them for. Good Luck with your car!
