Ok heres what i have found out so far, i went down to ford and they scanned the code, it came up as my 02 sensor on bank 2 was reading lean... ever since then i get the worst gas mileage ever im barely getting 210 on basic normal driving.. heres a list of my modifications, K&N, C&L MAF, C&L true flow pipe, BBK 70mm TB, C&L upper intake manifold Steeda Intake Spacer, off road H Pipe, and Mac cat back exhaust... I've heard things about C&L MAF sending codes and throwing a SES Light up on the dash, so i wasnt worried about it until i notice the huge loss in mpg... please anyone know how to fix this, i'm dying here i heard someone say to buy a pro-m remote optimizer to even out the a/f ratio.. any other suggestions,. please help with this one.... thanks :bang:

is your car making a noise ? i have yor problem too, but mine sounds weird on the driver side

what kind of noise are you talking about,.. i havent really heard, anything all know is the car says its running lean, but the lack of gas mileage makes me think its running pig rich,.. i dont kow what to do,.. something is messed up and i have no idea what?

More than likely it is just your 02 sensor. Try swapping the front two sensors, disconnect the battery for about fifteen minutes and see if the code changes to bank 1. Autozone will scan codes for free so you don't have to keep going to the ford dealership.

In your case it sounds like you really do have a bad O2 sensor (driver's side, closest to the engine). The O2 sensor voltage is probably too low, and the PCM keeps dumping fuel on the driver's side to correct it. The net result would be you are running way too rich which will trash you mileage. Generally, if you have a problem with the MAF or a vacuum leak, the engine really will run lean which will improve your mileage. :nice:

I keep my car tuned to run at 14.7:1 unless I start getting on it, and when I do my A/F drops quickly to 11.5:1 and stays there. Tuned this way my car gets 19-21 MPG around town. I tried running the car constantly in open loop @ 12.1:1 and though the drivability and throttle response dramatically improved, my mileage dropped to 14 MPG. I didn't leave it that way for long, but the A/F ratio can have a profound impact on mileage. :D

if you have after market exhaust, and no cats like i do, they wont. but then again, alot of you have better dealers than i do. good luck :)

No dealership should be willing to work on any car with an illegal exhaust system unless they are making it legal again. They can get fined for it if they get caught... :nonono:
