just did the install on the shifter ..works great.. how do u know if the dust boot is seated properly seems to be a bit nochie, but seems to shift fine . if its not seated right how do u know
I have a Barton as well. The boot is probably the most annoying part of the install. There is a groove in the base of the shifter and around the reverse lock out on the left hand side. The lower, inner part of the boot needs to be installed around all of that while the lower, outer part of the boot needs to be seated between the shifter and body to prevent road noise. If you have trouble getting into reverse, you'll know it ins't seated properly and the boot is interfering. Otherwise, you should be fine. The shifter is super notchy at first but will settle out a bit with use.
