Thanks a lot man! You can still do more with less. I would put some overhead cabinets up to store your glasses and liquor. That will save you room behind the bar. Those shelves that hold the liquor and glasses stick out a good 8 inches. Even with the room I have, with two or three people behind there eating and drinking, 8 inches would be a world of difference. The wet bar is excellent!! I never bring glass upstairs to the dish washer. I leave it all down in the basement! I would do it for sure!:nice:

BTW All the beer and Mustangs tin signs are from E-bay. I bought them over the summer of 2006. Some in 2007. The UFC posters mysteriously disappeard from the walls of the bar.....hmmmm..I don't know how.

Do you guys have sump pumps in your basements?

Reason I ask, is our power went off the other day for 6 hrs and I was real glad I had planned ahead and installed an emergency water powered sump pump. It kicks in if the water level gets higher than the normal electric sump pump float. Municipal water pressure powers the pump and keeps the basement dry.

Will post pics if anyone wants to see the setup.

Yes. Look at my 5th picture where the UFC poster and the ROCKY BALBOA poster is. That little room has a sump pump, with backup battery power. The old owner installed all that before I moved in. I guess a few neighbors had problems after poweroutages. The pump was always there, but he had the back up system installed. It looks pretty sweet.

Here is a pic of my setup. Have to excuse on the purple primer, got a little messy. The black sleeve is the check valve for the electric sump pump. The water powered one actually clamps onto the discharge tube and then has its separate discharge that t's up to the other one.

That will be a nice bar in the corner like that. Once you slap your choice of color, it will really be sweet! Don't have to excuse the purple primer.....it's just a basement. Now, if that was your car....that's a different story...hehe

Hoping to get some work done on the garage this summer. I just got done putting up 6 4 foot flourescent lights up so I could see better to detail. I want to either sheet rock all the walls or at least put up some wood painted white to reflect the light better. Won't be as nice as some of the garages, but I can dream.

Hey man, that's cool, one thing at a time!! I wired my garage in the summer, and insulated it in the fall. I have 9 outlets in the walls, and 6 in the ceiling.:nice: I also mounted two 4 foot flourecents that hold 4 bulbs each on the angle area of the ceiling. It shines perfectly under hoods!! 1 drop light in the center. Two more 4 foot/4 bulb lights in the rear of the garage, and one 4 foot/2bulb light in the middle. I only have 2 bulbs in each 4 foot/4 holder, and MAN.....it lights up like a Christmas tree!! This summer is drywall and paint after I get "81 Hack Job" finished.

ok I finally made some progress thats worthy of an update. A friend came over yesterday and helped me put up the wall insulation. Its amazing what a difference it makes in the sound of the speakers. It doesn't look like I've done a lot since last time but theres a ton of work that went in. I've only been able to get 1-2 hours of work in on the weekned due to school. Once exams are over I hope to get this thing knocked out pretty quick. my dad still hasn't finished the shop drawings for the cabinets so Im kinda on hold until those get done. All I have left to do is put sheetrock up, paint, trim, carpet and cabinets. I can't wait, Im stoked

Heres some pics....the one with the nails is just where I tried to the the (3) 2x12's to act as a single composite girder to help take some of the popping out from upstairs. It helped a lot but its southern yellow pine and the floors werent glued or screwed down

Looks like you are doing a great job. When I insulated my garage, I noticed the difference in the warmth. It was funny, the more I got done, the hotter I got, because it was the mid summer when I did that.

And....this winter, neither of my batteries were dead in my cars compared to last winter with no insulation.

I'm glad to see you updated us. Keep it going, good luck with exams, and get that basement going man!! :D

Getting closer to being done. Since I got laid off my job, I've had a lot more free time :rlaugh:. Ive just got to wait on some cabinets and carpet now, along with some minor things here and there like mounting the tv. Sometime when I have the $300, the beams will be wrapped in redoak

The sooner I get this done, the sooner I can work on putting my 3:73s which have been sitting in the garage since christmas :nice:

Thanks guys... Another little update. Got the TV mount mounted and cabinets are being made as we speak. Finished the door trim today thank god and just have to finish the front window trim. Its all starting to come together now. Another month and hopefully I'll be done. Plan on watching this football season the way God intended...through Bose surround sound. :rofl:

That's cool, 42" is perfect. I have a 46 or 47 DLP in my basement, and I want to get like a 32" for my living room. I don't want to go too big up there, but actually a 42" inch would be good to...my room isn't big enough for a larger one.

I here ya about lighting a fire under people. That's why it's best to do anything you can, and have others do as little as possible.
