You set on living in Bozeman? It is much more expensive there than the surrounding areas. I's sure you knew that already though. I would probably move back to bozeman if I could afford to buy a house there! Of course thats not in the cards till im done with school.

My neighbors just moved out, so there is an open townhouse next door! I would even keep an eye on the cobra for you while your out! You know,,,,stretch her legs every once in a while!

Montana overall is pretty nice, but Bozeman is a whole level above the rest.

Everyone here is very young since it is a college town..
There is NO neighborhood that I would not want to walk thru by myself in the middle of the night..

You've seen some of my montana pictures, and most of them are taken within a half hour from my house

The bars are very relaxed, hot to ugly girl ratio is exceptional, and everyone is very very friendly..



Houses here average $70,000 more than in the rest of the state, but its worth it to me to be where I want to live..

I was hoping next summer to buy a new KTM 530 EXC and spend almost every day of the summer riding in the nearby mountains, but looks like I'll probably have to save all my money for the house.

I have been looking alot, and I can get a fairly nice, pretty new (less than 10 year old) house for about $250,000

I'm hoping to put 40-$50,000 down so my payment will be right around $1,100 a month, which means I'll find some roommates to help pay for it.


So, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT ST. LOUIS/ SOUTHERN ILLINOIS IS LIKE LOL?? I've never been there.. And I'm scared.....

Actually it is a lot like bozeman! Except it is much cheaper to live here! A walk on the beach down by the college here in the summer will provide you with more eye candy than you can handle!

When I lived in Bozeman I worked for the KTM dealer there.

Given the right opportunity, I would probably move back there.

As far as great falls goes, I would rather drown in a septic tank than move there.

Just keep your head up, man. Havn't read the other posts, so I don't know if you're feeling better about the situation, but everyone goes through bumps in their lifetime. Just take it in stride. If you've got your health, family, and happiness, the other parts will fall into place in time!

Sorry to hear about your luck man. Give it time and stay positive though. St Louis is nothing to brag about. I go there every year for a four day weekend for the NHRA nitro cars. We always stay downtown, cause the track is just across the river. Its a small city, although the burbs are vast. I wouldnt say there is really that much to do. You could stay busy for 6 or 8 weekends, but it would get redundant in my opinion. Once you see the sights, and visit the different areas of town, you are twittling your thumbs. I guess I could be way wrong though. If you actually knew people out there, Im sure there are things to do that I dont know about. As far as your house goes, your first house doesnt have to be your dream house. Keep living within your means, dont rely on roommates to help pay your mortgage. When its YOUR house, you will be pickier about how they keep it up... My $.02 anyway.

What kind of work do u do?

I live in what is called North County of the St. Louis area. Grew up out in the boonies (actually Daniel Boones home was 3-4 miles from were I grew up). Lived in St. Charles that is a North Western suburb/city as well.

St. Louis City is not big size wise. If you look at population/actual area it is small as there are like 150+ local communities and the actual city and county are not counted as one (why KC is noted as larger as you stay in the city for most of the county).

Some of the plus's/things to do are the free attractions at Forest Park (home of the 1904 worlds fair). There is a top notch science museum, zoo, Art museum, park with golf, gardens, biking, ect. There is a good bar area known as the landing, several casinos, Blues hockey (ok/poor team but fun to go to), Cardinals baseball, There are several areas that have "special" histories/events/attractions. We have an area called "The Hill" were you will get some GREAT Italian food, there is a Greek fest were they have all kinds of food/parades, dog town were there is a good bit of Irish heritage/parties on st. pats. St. Louis has the 2nd largest mardi party(first after Katrina but that is going back to NO). Tour of the Busch brewery (kind of a sore subject). Go to the east side just in IL and there are some of the best strip clubs around (be carefull...East STL is probably the deadliest area to be and the reason St. Louis is ranked if not 1st as the deadliest city a solid top 5er).

If you bring your car with you...there are some good back roads you can mess around on once you get away from the burbs. GIR is the local 1/4 NHRA track. The airport SUCKS. Some really really good wine actually (many national/international award winning) in the area and it is a big thing to do and not too pricey.

Being from Montana your used to the cold but we do have some nasty cold. We sit in the Mississippi valley, and humidity is horrible. Elevation is around 400-700ft or around there. Humidity on a not so bad day is in the 80% area. This makes the heat just suck and the cold bite you more, Sometimes you dont see a flag move for weeks...then you get 50mph gusts. Winter is fairly mild snow wise, good bit of ice, daytime temps range from 20's to low 40's. Summer is around 90-105 (heat index's reach 105-110). Fall and spring...it can be below freezing in the morning, 80-90 at lunch, 80's with rain on the way home, snow at night and be gone by morning rush hour.
