Hello,

I previously had the borla stinger catback with bassani catted x-pipe, I replaced it tonight with a brand new bassani street competition catback. Compared to the borla stinger catback, the bassani catback almost sounds like stock (i tried with and without baffles)

My question to you all is the following:

For those of you with bassani exhaust did it take the mufflers a while to break in before they actually got louder?? Any info would be appreciated.

Why did you ditch the Stingers?
I have Stingers too and they are pretty loud.
My neighbor has complianed about them to me. He said they waking him up in the morning.

The bassani qt does def break in. The first day or two i was disappointed on how not loud the exhaust was but after 3 or 4 days it finally woke up and sounded nice out of know where. It is very loud with the baffels out believe me. You know how loud the ricers cars are and if i race when my car roars over theres. Believe me they are loud when you get on it a lot louder then flows(havent heard any others in real life)

Mine were loud immediately. At idle it has a nice rumble and growling kind of sound. When you punch on it, you aren't going to be able to hear anything else. If you have a s/c it makes it even louder! I love mine. I hope yours breaks in for ya.

The reason I got rid of my borla stinger is because the simply droned too much on the highway with my 4.10 gears and bassani catted x-pipe. At least I can this much for the Basssani Street Competition catback is that it doesn't drone no where near as bad as the Borla. The borla droned so bad I could even drown it out with the radio, seriously. I am happy with the bassani catback, I just thought it would be louder but I guess coming from possibly the loudest catback you can buy the borla stingers anything would seem quiet.

It'll get louder. I was real disapointed when I first installed it. After the first couple weeks you'll start to notice a huge differance. ESPECIALY at WOT!!

Deadlurker,

at the time you recorded the sound clips, were you running bassani mid-lenghts, non-catted bassani x-pipe and a bassani catback? I say this because I have a catted x-pipe and bassani catback and it is not even 1/4 as loud. May be because the catback hadn't broken in, like i said i just installed it last night to replace the terribly droning borla stinger catback.

Thanks DeadLurker but those are the sound clips that I was referring to and tried to compare with my car. For some reason I think i got ripped cause my bassani exhaust and x-pipe doesn't sound like that. Did it take your exhaust system a while to break in or did it sound like that from the start?

I hope i didn't get shipped the wrong muffler or something cause this thing is like quiet as stock, lol.

Is your X pipe and Catback Stainless Steel? Also did you remove the baffles?

Reset your battery also..just for the sake of it and give it a few days....then come back and tell me what you think after going WOT a few times.

Yes, both the x-pipe and catback are stainless steel, the baffles are removed and the battery has been reset.

I will give a day or so and then report back.

Thanks for the info.
