Aw man, that sucks. I'd be pretty pissed off as well if I spent that kind of cash and got that craftsmanship. I had bought a pair of longtube Hedman headers for an F-150 I used to have, and they rusted out in a year and a half. I suppose it's not always the case with "you get what you pay for" these days...

Yeah these $210 mufflers now cost me $250 because I had to pay $20 twice to get them welded up...

BTW, I'm not sure if i already asked you this before & if I did, I apologize? I see you have MM extreme duty LCA's. Did you weld up or reinforce the torque boxes before installing them? The reason I ask is I am gonna replace my MM HD's with XD's soon, just wasn't sure if I needed to reinforce the tq boxes 1st... Thanks

I have not, but am going to soon. They still look great though, after some NASTY launches on slicks with the stock arms as well as these. I have a friend who is going to weld my axle tubes up for me, and he is going to weld in these battle box reinforcements in at the same time. I gotta say though, these things are NOISY!!!! They squeak a TON. I've greased them a few times, but nothing seems to stop the noise. In my last set of pictures, the car is actually riding on bone stock fox body springs, with the perches about 3/4 of the way down. I haven't launched on this setup yet, but it rides a hell of a lot better than the last set.

Thanks... So you HAVE launched hard on the MM arms, or only stock? I plan on doing the battle boxes on my notch with MM XD lowers & Steeda boxed uppers, but on my Mach, I am only worried about the lower tq boxes since I will be running the XD lowers & I will eventually be installing my Tq arm setup & will no longer be running UCA's....

That sucks Dustin, sorry to hear that. I have that kind of luck too...everyone else will have no problems with something, and ill get the one batch that has the problems, ive gotten used to it haha. Your exhaust sounds badass and unique man, keep it the way it is

Edit: haha just realized this thread is from 08. Hope all is well with the mach man...always loved that car.

Sorry to hear that Dustin. I know it can be frustrating when you try to do your research ahead of time and spend good money on something for it not to perform as expected.

I had toss up when I did my CB and it was between Bassani, Magnaflow and Borla. I went with the Borla because it had less parts and less connection points. So far they have been great.

Have you tried to contact Bassani? With their heavy involvement into the racing circut, I'm sure they might be willing to help you out. I have met Darryl Bassani at a NMRA event before and he was a pretty cool guy. He was cooking hamburgers for everyone. LOL... Try giving them a call.

Thanks Doug... I will admit that I think my exhaust sounds pretty unique too since most people run Bassani's with an X pipe, but I have LT's & an H...

I know I started this thread in 08, but I actually bumped it up from the dead LOL... The Mach is doing good, how is the Bullitt doing?

Thanks Kevin. I went with Bassani because I love the sound & judging from what I saw, their quality seemed to be excellent. I haven't really thought about giving them a call, but with my past experiences dealing with manufacturers & vendors when it comes to warranty's has been pretty sh##ty....

I've launched on the stockers and the XD's. About 4 or 5 good launches on Mickey Thompson ET Drags.

I'm going to have the battle box kits welded up by next summer, as well as the tubes. That's part of my winter plans for the beast.

The B is good, no problems other than some damn squeaky brakes. Replaced the headlights with some newer ones that dont look like they have been through hell and back (same style) and im lovin the new wheels, made it a whole new car. Hopefully a JLT cai will be goin on next month for my bday
I feel you on the uniqueness of exhaust, ive seen my set up like once or twice on youtube or streetfire. Like the Bassanis, most put an X with the stingers.
