What mufflers were used on the Bullitt mustangs? Weren't they designed like another manufacture?

Yes and No, yes they are different than the stock GT mufflers, but they were designed by Ford. They are said to flow 20% better and have a more "aggresive" sound. I really like how mine sound with the prochamber, but I want loud, that's why i'm going Borla :nice:

I got my Bassani Catback and O/R X-Pipe for $600, so i don't see why people think its all that expensive. Pretty much any catback and midpipe combo will come ou to that price other than Borla

I was thinking Bassani cat-backs ran closer to 500 just for it. But I can accept being incorrect.

Thanks for clearing that up for me about the bullitt mufflers. I have two of them sitting around the house just taking up space.

I might be able to get you a sound clip tonight of my car. Getting the catted mac hpipe installed today.
:nice:

I just cant make up my mind..I'm about to pull my hair out. I know I'm not the only one who has experienced this kind of stress..

I go back and forth..One day, I'll hear a GT with Stingers, and drool all over the place, the next day, I'll hear a really hollow, tinny sounding stang and want that sound.

;] No sound clips. Its def alittle louder than stock 6 cats. I have to stop comparing my cars sound to the 99-04 GT's because they sound different with the same combo's. With the new pipe i def. get the mac sound inside when im over 25000 RPm and climbing, but the problem with it sounding like its having a hard time breathing is still there (npi stuff). Sounds great though!

Oh you're not incorrect. I got the Bassani catback for a good deal at $450 shipped and then the UPR X-Pipe for $150, so it came out to about $600. An awesome combo thats loud and yet still has an amazing tone to it.

BTW speedfreak, i posted a bunch of videos of my car on here, so just do a search of my username and you should find plenty. I have WOT fly-bys, taking off, driving by in second, and a few others.:nice:

So what is the major sound difference between x-pipes like UPR/Pypes/SLP, and ones like Bassani/BBK?
the design. The Bassani X-Pipe has kind of a chamber where the pipes cross as does the BBK and the "true" x-pipes like UPR/Pypes/SLP have just a pure X at the crossover

I got my Magnapack Catback for $319 shipped. Can't say where I got it though (by agreement with the comapny) Very pleased with the company though ;) :nice:
