I am looking to upgrade my entire exhaust system. 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 headers....

I called Bassani and they said go with the 2 1/2 X and catback....

I was thinking 3 inch all the way back... what do you guys think?

I also may be interested in Hookers... heard they don't hang as low. Any thoughts on that or another company?

Where can I buy these at good prices?

Thanks.

Also, I am building a 10.5:1 big bore 347. Spyder intake, solid roller cam and gonna turn 7500 rpm.

See my other post for pics of the shortblock from CHP. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=578230

Talk to who's grinding your cam as to which exhaust size is ideal. I think you're on the right track looking into a 1 3/4-1 7/8" stepped header or a good 1 3/4 or 1 7/8" longtube with a 3" mid pipe.

I would also tend to lean on the 3" system, especially with the N2O on board (Which I assume you will still run) Stepped headers are the way to go. We went 1.875-2" on a recent customers car based on the cam manufactors specs over .700 lift, 11.3:1 comp, AFR205, ported Super Vic, 150+ shot of the juice.

The Hooker Super Comps hang fairly low, not near as low as the Bassani, but a little lower then most Kooks I have seen or delt with. I just put a set of Super COmps on a 408 in a fox and they hang really low. When we made the custom X-pipe for it I actually made bends out of the headers to bring the X-pipe up towards the car. You may also want to look into the Accufab Headers.

If your interested in taken the car out to OH, Bill can get you in touch with a guy that does awesome work. The headers fit like a glove, and make realy power. You take the car out leave it for a week, and a week later the headers end up at your door all ceramic coated ready to bolt on. A true custom header, around $1200 if I remember correctly.
