Alright...

I am consider getting a bassani street comp catback.

I will be using my stock H pipe with this setup. Will the street comp be loud comparing to stock? I have 40 series flows now, how will the sound compare? Will street comp drone?

Oh, and about the baffles in the exhaust tips. Do they reduce drone or loudness?

thanks.

I have Bassani's Quiet Thunder cat back,I would love to hear the street comp muffs!!:nice:
I just recently took off my stock H pipe.(2 weeks ago) and put a catted X pipe on.The muffs do sound alot better without the stock H..The cats on the stock H "rite below" the drivers seat and passenger seat caused most of my drone. But now the drown is "totally" gone!!:nice: The baffles only come with the Stainless kit.It doesnt come with the "BX" series. I think it just cuts down on the loudness coming from the rear!!

So the BX catback is quieter than the SS version (with the baffles out)? If thats the case looks like Im spending the money on the SS version!
no no,I didnt say that.Im sure there the same. The BX series "does not" come with the removable baffles. The stainless version does come with them, but they are removable.

Just get the BX kit!! If you want it loud you have no need for the baffles!!

Yeah, I just wasnt sure how they did it. If it was the same mufflers for the kits, or quiter ones on the BX or what. I want the car louder than the Mac catback I have now, but no so much just loud, but better quality, and better sounding.

I found some decent prices on them too, so its just a matter of getting rid of my Mac one, and making the decision!

With the stock H it was loud, but it was really loud "inside" the car.(if that makes sense) but I put an X pipe on 2 weeks ago and WOW!!! What a mean growl!!:nice: I would listen to these Bassani Comp's first before I went Quiet Thunder though!! I wish they had a sound clip!!

Id definately be going street comp over the quiet flow ones.

My car has long tubes and a prochamber so it should sound different, but I wonder if the prochamber or an off road X would sound meaner. My guess is either way up in the RPMs the car should scream (as much as a stockish motor will)!

a catless X without a doupt would be louder!! Alot of people dont like the sound of an off rd X on a push rod 5.0. . I have cats so it still has a low rumble,(at idle) but an off rd X with Long tubes, and Bassani's gives me a chubby just thinking about it.:nice:

ive got the street comp catback with lt's and bbk o/r h and it sounds amazing. i personally think its the best sounding exhaust ive heard. its not like 1chamber loud but once you step down on it, it roars. i took the baffles out a day after i put on the catback and it made it considerably louder. i think they sound awesome, and i would pop for the stainless version if you can. can't wait to hear how my bassani's sound with a 420 windsor in front of em, coming soon.

420cid + Bassani =

I agree,Bassani has a very distinctive exhaust note :nice: I would love to hear the comp muffs!

yup 420 windsor with 2" LT's, 3 1/2" o/r x pipe and my street comps. not to mention the nice healthy cam i'm putting in it, should have a nice lope. only thing that sucks is i will have to get a reducer to be able to use my catback to make it go from 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 but oh well. i can't wait to hear it man, im so pumped about it. i need to record the sound of my exhaust and put it on here, but i dont know how. also i dont want to do it cuz i think everybody will try to copy my exhaust setup lol.

Bassani has a raspy note that I just LOVE. Bassani on a Modular car with no cats = sex to my ears!

I think I have decided on it, Ill keep the prochamber for now, then see what I can do about an off road X if I really want!
yeah try em both, but I think the off rd x will sound alot meaner!!

yeah it should sound awesome. ive always wondered how loud the bassani race catback is? i went by their diagram on their website that compares all 3 and it just seemed a lil too loud for me, but still i wouldn't mind hearing it.

ive had all bassani since 2000, id never look back, the sound is second to none
