Hey 25th why don't you try an x pipe with your mac catback? Once I put my motor in thats what I'm doing along with a set of longtubes.

I wouldnt mind trying that out, but if Im going to drop money first its going to be on the catback, and I dont know anyone currently with an X pipe for my set up I could try. I agree with Kumm the Bassani just has a unique sound thats hard to beat. I have heard his car in person and it just sounds mean!

I will say a few things on the subject. The loudest car I have heard running through street type mufflers was my friends car with a Mac catback, running shorties and an off road H. The car was insanely loud but we think there was something to the car or the set up we didnt know. The car was TOO loud for just a simple Mac Catback and off road exhaust!

I love the sound of most mufflers, but more times than not I like their sound on a 4.6 car, not on the 5.0. The pushrod motors with really loud straight through mufflers usually sound like old pickups running glasspacks, and thats NOT the sound I want!

In the end Im nearly dead set on the Bassani catback, I just want to know everything before I spend the $450 (give or take) and its too quiet!

The thing with Bassani they keep getting louder and louder. When I first got them on they were decent, but a year later there was a big difference in loudness.I think thats why M.Yount took his off,he wanted it quiet but it kept getting louder!!

If you want absolute loudest than get race bullets. A deep rumble at idle and just this loud ass high pitch from 2grand on. INSANELY LOUD!!!!!

Oh I have contemplated them as a lot of the guys I race with run them, but I have heard them on a stock motor and the sound just wasnt what I wanted. I debated SLPs, but again with the Bullets it wasnt exactly what I wanted. I want loud and raspy, and an off road X with a Bassani catback will provide that! Plus its hard to beat bassani quality, even though Im not getting the SS version!

Every clip that i have come accross makes me want the bassani sport comp catback.
the only thing that is holding me back is that i am very skeptical of how 3 inch tips look on the back of a lx and i have been searching for a while now and can't seem to find a picture of 3inch tips on an lx.
Does anybody have pictures of the bassani catback on a coupe?

25thmustang,
where are you planning to order yours from?
i heard that ninomotorsports.com sells bassani for a great price. u might want to check that out.

I found an add in one of the Mags for $430 but cant recall the company off hand. I havent really shopped around for prices yet as I am more or less still deciding on the set up. I am almost certain Im going with that catback and will definately check them out...

As far as the tips go, I have seen them on a few cars and they look very nice. The 3" isnt overkill as some would think!

In the end my goal is Mac Long Tubes, VRS off road X, and Bassani Catback. Should sound pretty good going down the track at 5500 RPM!
