I have an 89 GT. I'm at a toss up between Bassani and Flowmaster exhaust for it. If I go Bassani I'm going all the way (X-pipe, headers and exhaust). Is the price difference between the two worth it? Bassani is a ton more expensive.

Other mods: BBK cold air, ford racing normal volume water pump, ford racing pulleys and spark plug wires.

Coming in Oct: Cobra intake (upper and lower), Mass air meter, throttle body and 24 lb injectors

Thanks

bassnai and flowmasters go like pickles and strawberrys. SOme poeple like. . . . . . no wait everyone hates it. Just one go or the other. I personaly am going bassani. They flow better, are made better and sound better. Everyone has homasters. They are expensive but damn you get what you pay for.

hope you have ear lpugs and some neighbors that are deep sleepers. The drone with one chambers is intense.

I agree...it's fun when you're getting on it and they sound nifty at idle, but the drone will drive you nuts on the long haul. I've got the Mac Flowpaths now and they're comparable sounding to the 40-series Flows and I even find them to droney. My next set will be 50-series Delta Flows. Niiiice and quiet.

Bassani, no question. You can't even compare them to flowmaster.

Bassani is just amazing quality. I have long tubes, x, and catback that is all Bassani and it fit perfectly and sounds amazing. Sure they are a little bit more expensive, but anything thats good is.

I say its a purely personal choice, as far as sound goes. Have you heard the spintechs on Jadefalcon's ride? Those things sound nasty, and frankly make me jealous. I have macs and a headman o/r h-pipe, and I love it. Try going online to listen and make up your own opinion here

exhaust

I mixed a Bassani catted X with Mac flowpath mufflers and I love it sounds great and pulls like a demon! both Bassani and Flowmaster are good porducts but the flow drone is too much I would get the Bassani

Spintechs have an interesting sound...you really gotta get yourself accustomed to them. They initially sound AWESOME, imo.

Although the strange thing is, either something is wrong with my exhaust, or the spintechs seriously broke in... Because they sounded AWESOME and like a TOTALLY different car for about 3 days. And now....it sounds the same. But with a slightly different sound. Got the car up in the air after a hanger broke and I had to push the muffler back up and weld on a new hanger, so I figured a leak formed somewhere...but I can't find any leaks at all. It's all good. I hate my car.

Resonates and drones like a sonofabitch.... I think the droning is from my headers though because my Flows droned EXACTLY the same as the Spintechs, at EXACTLY the same rpms. It's a HORRIFIC sound...I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. Sounds like.....an animal growling. If the animal was being shaken, and was made entirely of tin.

But as far as the mufflers sound..they sound great. Assuming they actually maintain the same sound though, unlike mine... ?
