BATTERY RELOCATION....

Here's a question for the batt. relo that I have never has answered...When you move the solonoid to the trunk, what do you do with the two small wires that run to the front of the solonoid from the ignition harness?

Tha big cables all make sense..can't figure out what's up with these two little ones.

think about it

I just did my 65 FB and used the 94 mustang starter with solenoid on it. Run the start wire down to it and the cable from the trunk up to the starter. Another wire from that to the hot cable to inside and you are set. Very clean on the pass side of engine compartment now. I used 1 wire alt and no more regulator. Like it!

The wire on the "S" (start) terminal must also go back to the trunk with the large Starter wire to energize the solenoid. I ran mine from the ign switch across behind the dash to the pass side kick panel and sill plate and then back.

The other "I" terminal wire is only needed if you are running an original type points ignition setup. It bypasses the pink resistor wire and applies the full 12volts to the coil while cranking only. It can be routed to the starter terminal, or if you want, just run a second wire along the "S" wire all the way to the back to the solenoid "I" terminal where it was.

14 gauge wire should be good for these.
