Well i woke up to 3 degrees here this morning and went to get in the car and turned the key and it cranked very very slowly. Then i tried again and it fired right up. Is that the battery? I am still on my original battery and its a 2000. Is that a sign of things to come or just because it was so cold? If so what is a good replacement? Just a decent one from Advance or AutoZone?

yup, its the battery. My stock one went in 2000 and my car was a 96. I got a new one from straus and it is still fine. knock on wood

good reminder, my car is a 2000 and is still using the original battery.

my 97 still has the original battery!
I made it into a maintenance battery by popping the tops off and refilling it with water. I've been looking to get an optima redtop though. $$

Same thing happened to me this morning. 9 degrees out side, turned the key "CLICK" Jumped it off with my bronco. The battery is only about a year old. but we don't see too many 9 degree mornings around here, so I should have payed the extra for a good battery. Lesson learned.
