I just put on BBK long tube headers and H Pipe, I have had this setup before and one of the problems was it hung really low to the ground, well with this car it does the same thing.. its about 2" off the ground.. What have some of you guys did to fix this problem.. the only thing I could think of is to cut the hangers a little shorter and weld them back up.. if not is there another h-pipe that might not hang so low with BBK headers..

Thanks Kurt

I had that setup on my other car, and it hung low unless i loosened the pipes up, and really pushed up on them while tightening. After that they were perfect. The car was about 1.5-2" lowered and no ground clearance issue at all.

I had the same problem on mine after I lowered my car, especially in my apartment complex with the ridiculously large speed bumps we have... It even went so far as to completely rip one of the bolts out at the rear of the X-pipe to the flow tube (right before the muffler).

When I went back in to fix it, I jacked the exhaust up and tightened the new bolt down TIGHT. Haven't had a problem since!

It's a PITA to get it right on the ground with jackstands. Do it like Melvin suggested but jack it a little higher because it will sag back down a little. Be sure to tighten one side of the flange at a time just a few turns at a time or you might have leaks.
