Just wondering if any one has used the BBK full length headers(1 5/8) and/or their x- or h-pipes (2 1/2) on their mustang. Next question is which would be better the x-pipes are only 30 bucks more (w/ cats) than the h-pipe (w/ cats). And one more question is will they fit on my car? I know to do dual exhaust I would have to get a double hump tranny crossmember since the car is single exhaust, 1983 Mustang GT.
-both the headers and pipes say 1979-1993 in summit and at the BBK website

yes it will all work but.......................... you need the brackets before the axle and the brackets inside the rear bumper as well .

I don't know much about the 4speed manual tranny, but the headers should go on fine, the H or X pipe you may or may not need the crossmember. The rest can be done at an exaust shop where they can weld it in.

I have 2 cars that currently have the bbk long tubes. One car has the matching bbk short h-pipe and the other car has the bbk x-pipe. I think that with the x-pipe you will lose a little bit of torque down low but pick up on hp in the upper rpms. And with the h-pipe you will keep your torque down low and pick up a lil bit of power in the upper rpm's. I personally like both setups and have not had any problems out of either setup. You can get the double hump crossmember for about $49 at D&D transmissions.
