bbk headers

i'm about to order bbk equal length headers and i'm wondering if the polished ceramic ones are worth the extra 100 bucks. i was also wondering if the gaskets are any good, or should i pick up some better ones?

ALWAYS choose ceramic headers over the normal ones.

My gaskets worked fine for my headers.

My gaskets blew in about 2-3 weeks. I used Felpro's the 2nd time around.

The chrome hdrs will change color soon after you run the motor. The extra $100.00 for ceramics is worth it (unless you do not care about the chrome changing color). The gaskets that came with my BBk's were torn when I opened the box they were shipped in. Too many members here have reported negatively on the BBK gaskets, go ahead and buy quality gaskets as stated above.

I used everything that came with my bbk shorties and i have no complaints. After a while all headers are gonna look like hell so its up to you.

Ceramic is definately the way to go for looks and longevity. Toss the gasket and get some felpro ones. the ones they come with are junk.

Ceramic is the way to go. Why would you torture yourself with equal lengths? You will be happier with shorties. Equal lengths tend to burn up plug wires and are a major PITA to put in. I'm installing a set, myself, only because I got a smokin deal on a new set that is ceramic coated....I also have a tubular K member....otherwise I wouldn't even consider it. If you are going to pay full price get shorties. Anybody with me?

I don't mind them changing colors, it's just the rusting sucks. The stock ones on our Dodge is leaking, and damn are they rusty. Well, they are not headers, but manifolds. Close enough.

I have the eqaul lenght shortys in ceramic from bbk the hearders and the gaskets are great no problems here.as a note i did have the shorty chrome ones they blued in acople of days and rusted in 6 mothhs although when i replaced with the ceramic they were 4 years old and in gd shape.

Diffenetly ceramic I have chrome and they turned goldish. I like the mac's a friend of mine has the BBK and he hates them weld's busted and some what poor quality.

even ceramic will fade too, but not nearly as bad as chrome.

how much are those bad boys? for $300 you can get the ceramic ford shorties from summit, and those are p head compliant too. I'd get those over bbk units. (that's what I have)

I like the shorties, don't like how the gaskets started leaking.
