anyone who takes the k member out to put headers on is on drugs! IMO
It can be done with the k in the car.

watch out for that EGR tube... it was my nightmare.

I would buy new OEM header gasket while you're at it.. save your time in the long run.. I learned that the hard way.

Dipstick will go back in, but it was a pain... lots of twisting, wiggling and jiggling... sorta like Britney Spears I guess... but I did get it back in.
I did damage the o-ring on the end of the dipstick and I had to replace it.

The EGR can be painful too... If you disconnect it from the top, then hook it up to the header, then reconnect it to the top you should be okay. That's what I had to do. Otherwise, I couldn't get the dang threads started.

On mine we connected the EGR to the header first then reconnected it to the car. Otherwise its almost impossible.

No you dont NEED to drop the K member, but it makes it a ton easier. Instead of taking 6+ hours, it was done along with a clutch install in 3 hours
