Was thinking about picking up a set for my 96 cobra but had a couple questions. With bbk longtubes and a matching catted x or h pipe would the car be able to pass emmisions. Also would it be louder than the setup i have right now running with an off-road h-pipe with no cats with the borla side exhaust. Its very tame at idle right now and id like to keep it semi-quiet under normal conditions for the sake of my neighbors. How much louder would it be over my current set-up if i went for the matching off-road pipe with the longtubes under idle or normal acceleration? And last but not least will i need to get a new tune on my chip if i were to add headers? Thanks in advance for anyone who can give me their opinions or experiences.

They'll most likely make the sound louder and deeper...Mine are still pretty tame until I really get on it though, but then it's pretty damn loud...What state are you in? I'm pretty sure that Long Tubes will pass emissions anywhere in the US except for California as long as you have cats...Cali requires shorty headers...

With Cats it will be a whole new game, should be much quieter than your current setup. The LT's Dont really make it much louder, just deeper.. You should be fine there. As for the chip, no, you dont need one. and no clue on the emissions ? Good luck :flag:
