Anyone have this pipe?

pro's & con's on it?

I know a lot of you guys prefer Dr. Gas and Bassani.

I'm curious about BBK

I have a custom built x pipe like the dr gas ones. I've had it for 2 years now and the welds are breaking. I decided to go with a true x pipe.

Its sounds great with the MAC catback, one of the meanest cars i have heard, and its my own

it's a piece of trash. it sounds like a tin can rattling after a while and the fit was horrible. not to mention the flange that connects to the muffler slipped up and over the bubble on the end of the pipe.

I'm thinkin' since you have a fox body..... you're opinion is just a little out of range. The pipes may be similar.... but there are differences. That's why they're sold as 87-93 or 94-95. Even if it was an SN95.... there are so many different catbacks .... it's really just luck of the draw on the ease of midpipe selections. I respect your opinion on YOUR car..... but I think he's talkin' SN95.

i disagree, still same engine, its going to sound the same, his opinon is still valid and its up to the thread starter who he wants to base his ending opinon on

read the reviews on stangnet about bbk's xpipe.

i just went out an bought a bassanni. the sound is amazing and there it no popping or rattling. it fit was excellent. i didnt have to fit with it at all! do it right the first time.

bbk's "xpipe" isnt even a real xpipe. it's a chamber. sorry if it seems like im bashing bbk, but im just stating everything that's happened to me or i've read about. i have bbk's headers and they're excellent.

goodluck on whichever you pick. personally i'd do bassanni or dr. gas.

Yeah i got my BBk Shorties and X pipe a while ago, and they have been great so far. No rubbing or problems with fitment, met right up with my MAC catback. I havent noticed any rattling noises. Its been off and on more times than i can count and i havent had any problems with the flanges. The only thing that might be a problem is if you live in a snowy area it might rust on you. Mine shows very little rust but im down in southern california so nothing rusts here, my MAC catback after 3 years is barely showing rust, but i have heard some snow country people having problems after one year.

Sorry, if I offended anyone. I didn't mean that his opinion was worthless ... I actually appreciate that he chimed in ... as I was curious as well. His comment on the sound was a good one as far as helping us. Just calling it a "peice of trash" based off of HIS fitment issues I think was irrelevant to the inquiry..... but maybe it will help someone.

seventy, im not the only one that has had problems. i may have gotten one of the "lemons", who knows? i read the reviews on the BBK xpipe just before buying my bassanni. i thought i had a blown out baffle in my muffler that was floating around and that was the rattling sound. well a few people had this same "tin" sound that was floating around. i guess it's something in the chamber.

once again, it's not a true xpipe, it's just a chamber, kind of like the mac prochamber except it kind of looks like an X or a square with the sides punched in

reviews section is very helpful. you gotta pay to play

LOL, I had them all.
I run the BBK O/R X (long tube version).
It fit fine and sound quieter than an H for sure.

I have mine, fit right up there, no problems at all. Sounds good and doesn't rattle, and I got mine used from another stangnetter.

I have a true bastard exhaust too, MAC headers into a BBK X into flows, but it all works and sounds great.

I'm just not getting it now..... why do roughly half the people asked say "the OR/H is quieter than the OR/X" .... where as the other half say "the OR/X is quieter than the OR/H"?

So which is it? The sound is the biggest factor in my decision .....

(sorry to hijack .... I've wondered for some time ..... just thought I'd ask since JR brought it up)

F@ck bbk and get yourself a vrs x pipe...sounds great and their pretty loud...and fits great..they come in either alum. or staintless steel

both offroad pipes are loud...its the muff, and the rest of the exhaust that will make it quieter or louder than the other...also the x pipes tend to get louder as the rpm's climb, and the h pipes are just loud all over the place!! i use to run an offroad H, so i can say it with experience.....either way, they both sound b@d @ss
