BBK or Mac

I have a set of BBK LT's on my car with no complaints at all about them. Some people have problems with the drivers side hitting the steering shaft(?) but mine dont have any problems at all. Also I've heard some BBK's dont come with an EGR bung on them... Just what I've heard, I havent seen any other than mine in person or in a picture.

I had both. MAC i had installed in 98 and uninstalled 03. The individual flanges were a real pain to align the holes... I spent many many many hours just getting the %^&%ing bolts in. Once in, the MAC LTs fit and ran great, good sound. But the finish blows. HTS coating does not last, and I had to wrap each header to keep my car from melting. They would melt any nearby wire, even my Energy Suspension motor mounts. The BBKs went in fine, needed to dimple the driver’s side where it contacted the steering knuckle. These LTs are JET-HOT coated!!!! The best thing since sliced bread and mustangs!!! If you go with MAC, get 'em coated, I implore you!!!! The MACs had a louder and deeper effect on the exhaust at idle, the BBKs not so much at idle but louder during load. After all is said and done, I like the BBK coated for the money. Hope this helps. :nice:

I have a mac shifter, mac U/D pullies, and a mac o/r H pipe (got it used for $70). I will never buy another mac product again. The shifter is ok, its springs are kinda weak, the pullies are rusting and I put back on my stock alt. pulley as I had charging issues (the stock one fixed the issues), and the o/r H well the studs on the back that go to the cat-back were off (I installed it new on the guys car when he bought it new, bought it 'cause he was tired of having to swap it back and forth for smog) and took some "bending" to get in line it too is rusting. I only boght it as I will put some high flow cats on this one and save a buttload on the part.

If I ever redo my exh. I will be going with bassani all the way.

so one more vote for BBK in this situation over mac.

Mac is cheap remember that old saying...you get what you pay for...you gotta pay to play. Go with Bassani headers, UPR makes a good midpipe, and for sound I would go with a Flowmaster cat back, if you want the best of everything save your pennies and get a full Bassani system...polished stainless :D

Bassani? I just left there sight I swear those people are nucking futs. What in the world do they think they've got over there. There prices are crazy. I just ordered the BBKs. Im happy with the BBK shorties I have. All chrome no rust, I'll stick with them.

WTF??? Where are the MAC people at?? I just bought a set of brand new Mac ceramic longtube headers brand new for $300. I went with Mac cause there use to be threads a while back about the this same topic and 90% of the people replied to get Mac ceramic coated headers over BBK! The only thing some people were complaining about was the single flange design. Looks like you already made your decision. Congrats and good luck :nice:
