BBK SSI and TB dont Match!!!

My friend just got his BBK SSI intake in for his stang, and he also ordered the 70mm BBK TB to go with it, but when he got his intake in, the TB bolt holes doesnt match the intake holes..... Any reason why the TB wont match up, he was wondering if you have to get a certain TB for the SSI???

I don`t think you need a specific TB for that intake.

As to why it won`t fit.

I just know that from reading posts over time,BBK has had serious quality control problems with that intake,eg,things not lining up and coolant leaks through the casting.

Well just a recomendation return that bbk intake and buy a holley for the pirce of it, the holley is better intake. Your friend will not have theses problems he is having now.

As nice as the SSI looks. I think its still in its infant stages as far as quality. Return it and buy and Edelbrock, GT40, TFS, or a Holley for the price. There have been a slew of issues with the poor casting and such and on top of it still not being a proven intake. Probably not what your friend wants to hear though...

Yeah he wont come off his SSI, hes in love with the "looks" of it, which i think is stupid IMO, but hey, i guess it doesnt matter what i like. I told him to pull his stock TB off and see if it bolts up to the SSI, and i guess that would tell him if his Intake or his TB is missdrilled. He hasnt been able to do that yet, so idk what the deal is yet, thanks for the help guys.

From my personal experience BBK has a quality control problem with all there products from headers to intakes. The only reason i have BBK headers is because they came on the car when i got it, however they will be soon replaced by MAC Shorty headers, connected to a MAC O/R H pipe just my .02
