I remember when epic threads were only 10 pages long. The good ole days.

I remember when these POS intakes first came out. They were puking gas and oil all over the place and thankfully BKK stopped selling them. Can't believe people still are buying these used.

I always thought it was a good idea, just executed poorly. The symmetrical tunnel-ram-style upper and the open-air ports in the lower (like an Edelbrock "Air Gap") were unique in the field and had promise, in theory. In practice it was no better than anything else on the market performance-wise, and as this thread pointed out, build quality was poor, so it was kind of doomed to extinction.
I'm waiting for the, "I Just Found a Rare BBK SSI Intake on ebay for $1000. Any Install Tips?" threads.
I was gonna build some shelves next to my tubular intake collection in the new garage for the SSI intakes
I'm only posting because I miss Strype.
Awe... Miss you too buddy.
Wow! He'll fix his broke ass intake so can pay even more for piece of junk? Awesome
Or... he could stick it on the shelf and let mice make a home of it. I know... tie a rope to it and use it as a boat anchor. The rope may be worth more in recoverable materials.
Seems like a good deal............ if you just don't know
Yeah the fuel rails sucked, I am using a set. Tapped the end of the rail with the odd plug and made it a decent set. Used AN fittings as well. After fixing a poor design they are great!
That whole intake sucked. Maybe 1 in 3 was even straight enough to mount without leaking right out of the box. One of the remaining 2 would have issues after some heat cycles.
SD cars didn't seem to mind them as much. They were good for some of those guys and matched up well on setups with better heads. Every dyno I recall, puts it in-line with a tubular GT-40/Lightning intake with different peaks and valleys and it was a pain in the balls to use with boost.

Oh. So. Hold up. Looooong time ago. You want BBK? You want gas all over yohaha!
except, in the movie lets actually have an explosion and fire.. bring the real drama to the big screen.
camera pans in slowly on the cranking engine... smoke... BOOM! a charred strype comes stumbling out of a burning garage. scene fades to him ranting away on the keyboard to some anonymous jerk wad at BBK!
ur garage with... it's old dude.
#cryingcloth, Strype.
