snowed in today... but took the entire day calling around for chains for the mustang 245/45/17. everywhere either doesnt carry that size or sold out during thxgvn. after all day of searching... finally 7pm guy found a guy out in eatonville selling a used set that would fit for $50. bared the packsnow/ice made the 25 mile country trek and finally got a set for emergency's. gonna drive as is tomorrow unless i absolutely need the chains. supposed to snow again wed night since that arctic chill is sitting off the coast.
BE CAREFULL OF THE BLACK ICE !!!!!!

damn! You guys are getting some crazy weather... Hey Im a cali boy and I drove through that junk just fine with a honda!
Im from cali and drive a 4wd and definately dont drive like a-hole and drive a hell of a lot better than 90% of the oregonians out here and I did see a lot of oregonians driving like that everyday and All I can do is just shake my head
I cant beleive it rains 7 months out of year and they cant drive in the rain it cracks me up.
The people it cailfornia can drive circles around most of the people out here and im not saying that because im from cali because my home town is chicago its just the facts .

The only thing that 4WD does for people is allow them a quicker way into the ditch who don't know how to drive in the snow and ice. A lot of people ask me how I can drive my Mustang in the snow and ice. Simple:
For one, it's slow
Secondly, I don't drive like an ass-hole. At least in teh snow.
But I must say that except for my friends on and off Stangnet that are car enthusiasts and are oregonians are the only exceptions to the 90%

Exactly , its not because its a 4wd that people end up in ditches thats for sure its the driver. Thats like saying because your shooting a 10mm instead of 9 mm your going to shoot better just because the 10mm is a better round and has more stopping power, your only going to shoot as good as your skills. Also i've seen a lot more accidents with 2wd vehicles then I do 4wd . In the past year i've 2 or 3 cars on there roof on the side of the freeway but havnt seen a truck or 4wd yet

You should try driving a 500rwh cobra in a snow storm 16 miles across bridges and streets that arent plowed with 18 by 10inch rims in the rear with 315's for tires and never slide off the road or touch a curb, then come and talk to me
BTW thanks for the warning, Remind me never to drive near ya when it isnt snowing lol .

My first car was a 1963 Nova II SS with a 454 and big fking blower through the hood that my old man built up for a birthday gift. I bought the car, he built the engine and did the fab/install work. It saw quite a bit of snow in Bend, so trust me, I know. And trust me, it didn't last long. After almost a week of the crap I told my old man that I was going to use his spare truck and the mofo was garaged. Come spring, it had to be sold since I decided it would be fun to get drunk with friends and go smash up perimeter lighting where the richies lived. exactly... I used to live 1/2 way down the hill to oxbow park (any of you that have been to the park know this hill lol), and a few years ago when we had all that ice, I had to get to work... I guess a advantage I had was growing up in Chicago and learning how to drive in the snow in a girlfriends pinto stationwagan 4spd stick shift lol. Then what really speeded up the learning process was everytime we got stuck, guess who had to get out and push , yup me. I also learned real fast not to push on the part of the bumper that was behind the spinning wheel thats throwing snow and mud your face and chest
